About

Doing everything by halves. Got a real flare with excuses. Meeting someone at the bar, where loose ends still have uses. It’s complicated. This time, I think it could be. Triangulated, it could be just what we need. So what you say? We give it up and walk away? We’re overrated, anyway.*

LOOSE ENDINGS

Loose Endings has evolved over the years to become something more than just a personal blog. It has become the place for me to keep all the creative bits of my life organized.

The Library focuses on the written word, be it my own writing or a simple book review, you can find it there.  Ramblings is just that, those moments where I just need to ramble about this or that. Picklesnot Design focuses on my Craft Business and all that it entails. For yarn inspiration with the hook (and occasionally pointy sticks) Pirate Hooker is the place to look.  Last, but not least, if you are looking for culinary craftiness the Kitchen Goddess Diaries is just the place to be.

ME

Cheryl began making up stories at an early age to entertain her little sister. She first put pencil to paper at the age of 13 penning a whopping 149 page story. At the time Cheryl thought very little about the idea of becoming a writer. She wanted to be a marine biologist when she grew up. Little did Cheryl realize that by writing what became known as the Red Folder Story by her friends, she changed the course of her future.

Taking a plethora of creative-writing classes in High-school, Cheryl absorbed everything she could learn about the craft of the written word. She was published in Soupstone twice. Cheryl went on to earn a degree in Journalism with an emphasis on Professional Writing from the University of Oklahoma.

Since then Cheryl has worked on several novel manuscripts, short stories, and scripts. An avid participant in National Novel Writing Month Challenge since 2006, she secretly harbors the thought that she has inspired others to pick up the pen (or sit down at the keyboard) and write.

Writing is not her only creative craft. Cheryl is a Fibre Arts enthusiast. Learning not only how to crochet and knit, Cheryl also learned how to spin fibre on a drop spindle. In 2008 she started her own business – Picklesnot Design – focused primarily on handmade items and original patterns.

Cheryl lives in Texas with her husband and a cat that answers to the name of Henry. She runs Picklesnot Design to support her writing and her unnatural penchant for yarn…
